Itinerary

Friday, March 1

We will meet at the Clubhouse at 12:30. We have a storage shed where we can keep your bicycles over the weekend. We will then leave by 1:00. The trip will take about 5.5 hours and we will eat dinner somewhere before dropping off at the houses. We will then get settled in and play games or chill before bedtime.

If you are unable to leave that early, let us know and we can arrange for a car to leave around 6:00.

Saturday, March 2

We will have breakfast and clean up and then go to the Glen Canyon Dam at 9:00. After that we will return to the house for lunch. Then after lunch is cleaned up we will go to Horseshoe Bend for hiking. At 4:00 we will go back to the house for dinner. After dinner we will have some time together for a short program and then make sack lunches for Sunday, then hang out and play games/watch a movie/build a time machine/etc.

Sunday, March 3

After breakfast we will clean up and pack and load our bags into the vehicles and leave for the church service at 10:20. After the church service we will leave for Antelope Canyon by 12:15. When we get to Antelope canyon we will eat lunch while we wait for our canyon tour to start at 1:15. When we are finished we will begin our trip back home, expecting to arrive in Tempe around 8:30.

Things to bring

  • Water bottle for outings
  • Closed toe shoes
  • Sunscreen
  • Hat
  • Light jacket (because of the altitude it will most likely be cooler there than it is here)
  • Gifts for Craig … just because 🙂

Things NOT to bring on the Antelope Canyon hike

  • Bags & backpacks (including fanny packs, hydration bags and purses)
  • Camera equipment (tripods, monopods, selfie-sticks, camera bags)
  • No drones, GoPros or camcorders
  • No open-toed shoes, sandals or high heels (proper clothing required)

Pack lightly, as we will only have room for one carry-on sized suitcase per person. We will be staying in two houses, sharing beds, sleeping on couches and the floor to keep the cost down, so bring appropriate sleepwear for the case that you might be sleeping in a “public area”. We will attempt to segregate the men and women to separate houses, but we may need to have some cross over depending on the male to female ratio.
